consultation & quotation

initial contact
When clients make an enquiry either we can come to you or you can visit the studio. We will show you our previous work from the folio and if necessary other design source material, we will also show you the types of stained glass available. It will be necessary at some stage to make a visit to make accurate measurements and we prefer to visit before the design stage to get a feel for the space in which the glass will live. It is possible however, to give estimates based on photographs and rough measurements via email.

travel fees
Consultations are free within a 3 mile radius from the studio (see map of our location), thereafter we charge at a rate of £10 per mile or £40 per hour (whichever is cheapest). This is deducted from any final balance over £1000 when the work is complete.

design fee
An initial fee of £150 is charged upon commission when designing to a brief after consultation . This fee is wavered if the value of the final balance is £1000 or above and is deducted from the final balance. If a copy is being made of an existing window / design, then there is flat rate of £20 per hour for the scale drawing.

construction fee
The price of the panel varies according to size, detail, treatments to the glass (eg; painting, etching, fusing, sandblasting) and type of glass used. (There are around 900 samples of glass to choose from once the design is finalised. ) An average price for traditional leaded stained glass using machine made glass is £85 per square foot, and with hand made glass £100 per square foot.

installation fee
We usually install the panels we make and take full responsibility for them until they are in place. We charge @ £40 per hour plus travel time beyond a 3 mile radius. To give an idea of price, a transom (area above front door) will take 1-2 hours.

terms
First the design fee of £150 is paid in advance then 50 % of the total estimate is required to start the work and the balance paid upon delivery / installation.
