Beginners Jewellery Class

One day introductory class usually held on a Saturday about four times a year, see classdates for availability.

There is a limit of 7 people per workshop enabling faster learning

The advantage of a small class is that you can experiment with many different effects and have an experienced adviser on hand at each stage. As part of the course all the glass is provided including a selection of diachoic glass and fittings. Each student is given a number of different fittings to use for the glass such as silver bails which are glued onto the back of a cabochon (domed shape of glass), plus a broach fitting, cuff links and ear studs. Silver chokers and leather thong may be bought at the studio if needed. We also sell a starter pack for those wishing to continue making these at home.

Areas covered : design, types of glass available, glass cutting, glass compatability, firing cycles, decorative techniques.

Usually the firing of the jewellery pieces can take place during the workshop but if necessary they can be fired after and sent on in the post if postage costs are covered. Price = £130 for the day, materials included (10:00am - 4:30pm)

Tuesday evenings are for those who would like to use the studio facilities to practise the techniques learnt and be monitored while embarking their own projects. The price is £15 (materials not included ) from 6pm-8:30pm and these sessions are payable in advance in blocks of 6 evenings.
